ShelfLife Home

Your household data belongs to your household.

Information we collect

We collect account details such as your name and email address; household membership and roles; food inventory, shopping lists, expiration dates, activity, and preferences; and information needed to provide subscriptions and support. When you choose scanning features, receipt or label images and extracted text are processed to return the requested result.

How we use information

We use information to operate and secure ShelfLife Home, synchronize household activity, identify food, read dates and receipts, generate inventory-aware recipe suggestions, send requested alerts, manage subscriptions, provide support, and improve reliability.

Household sharing

Information entered into a household is visible to authorized household members according to their assigned role. Household owners control invitations and access.

Service providers

We use specialized providers for authentication, hosting, databases, payments, email delivery, product lookup, image text recognition, and AI-assisted features. They receive only the information needed to perform their services and process it under their own terms and privacy commitments.

Payments

Payment card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by ShelfLife Home. We retain subscription status and provider identifiers needed to manage Premium access.

Retention and security

We retain information while your account or household is active and as reasonably needed for security, legal, billing, and backup purposes. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You may update household information in the app, manage your subscription through the billing portal, or contact us to request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information. Some records may be retained when legally required.

Children

ShelfLife Home is intended for household use under the direction of an adult account owner. Child household roles provide limited product access and are not intended to create independent accounts for children without appropriate consent.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service changes. Material updates will be posted here with a revised effective date. Questions or privacy requests can be sent through our Contact Us page.
